Zumba takes world by storm
Zumba is becoming increasingly popular worldwide as this aerobic routine provides cardiovascular exercise whilst dancing to latin rhythms.
The fun workout comprises of approximately 70% latin dance (for example, cha-cha-cha, samba and mambo) and the other 30% is a mix of other dances from around the world, including hip hop. Participants often comment that it’s so much fun they don’t think of it as a fitness workout – burning approximately 500-700 calories in a session.
There are over 20,000 Zumba instructors worldwide and recently fitness chain, ‘Virgin Active’, started offering Zumba classes at their clubs. People all over the world are discovering how much fun it is to dance and also the benefits to their health.
